Heavenly Father,
I come before you today with a grateful heart, thanking you for the precious gift of my parents. Your Word teaches us to honor our parents, and I pray that I may always do so with love, respect, and gratitude.
Proverbs 23:22 (NIV) says, “Listen to your father, who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old.” Lord, help me to listen to their wisdom, guidance, and teachings, recognizing the invaluable role they’ve played in shaping my life.
I lift my parents up to you, Lord, knowing that they are your creation, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:13-14). I pray for their physical health, that you may grant them strength and vitality. May you protect them from illness and infirmity, and grant them a long and blessed life.
I also pray for their spiritual well-being, that they may grow in faith and knowledge of you. May they continue to seek your guidance and find comfort in your presence (Psalm 16:11). Lord, draw them closer to you each day and help them to walk in your ways.
Proverbs 31:28 (NIV) tells us, “Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.” I pray that my parents may feel the love and appreciation from their children and each other. Fill their hearts with joy, peace, and the knowledge that they are cherished.
Finally, Lord, I ask for your grace and wisdom to be a source of support and encouragement to my parents in their times of need. May I be a reflection of your love and mercy in their lives.
