Every day, there are countless men and women who answer the call to surrender their comforts and their very ways of life in order to serve God through international missions. According to studies, there are currently as many as 2 million people who have answered God’s call on their lives to leave their homes and spread the Gospel to people who may not hear it any other way. While some of these missionaries go on short-term trips that last a few weeks, others adopt a life of missionary work, choosing to live in remote villages for years on end. Today, spend time praying for God’s blessings upon these missionaries and their work.
Pray These Verses:
Matthew 28:18-20 (TPT)
Then Jesus came close to them and said, “All authority of the universe has been given to me. Now wherever you go, make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. And teach them to faithfully follow all that I have commanded you. And never forget that I am with you every day, even to the completion of this age.”
Acts 1:8 (TPT)
But I promise you this-the Holy Spirit will come upon you, and you will be seized with power. You will be my messengers to Jerusalem, throughout Judea, the distant provinces-even to the remotest places on earth!”
Romans 10:13-14 (TPT)
And it’s true: “Everyone who calls on the Lord’s name will experience new life.” But how can people call on him for help if they’ve not yet believed? And how can they believe in one they’ve not yet heard of? And how can they hear the message of life if there is no one there to proclaim it?
Pray This Prayer:
Heavenly Father, today I ask that You protect every man and woman who is serving You as a missionary around the world. I know that some of them are serving in areas where Christianity is legal, but some of them are putting their very lives in danger by doing what they’re doing. Through your awesome power and might, protect them from anyone who would try to bring them harm. In addition to protection, I ask that You bless them opportunities to spread Your Gospel to the people who call the areas in which they are serving home. Most of all, I ask that You encourage them. I can’t imagine the frustration that they experience, but I know that You are our Source of hope and encouragement. In Christ’s name, Amen.
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the brave men and women who give up their own comfort to take Your Gospel to the most remote corners of the world. Thank You for caring so much about humanity that You call people to that line of service. Thank You for the power of the Holy Spirit that not only calls people to that line of service, but also opens the hearts of the unsaved so they recognize their need for You. In Christ’s name, Amen.
